St Joseph's Centenary

On Tuesday we celebrated the Feast Day of St. Joseph, husband of Mary and father to Jesus. Miss O’Connor created a beautiful liturgy, which included our new school prayer. It was lovely to hear all students joining in praying the school prayer as symbols were brought in to create the sacred space.

Planning is underway for the centenary weekend of 14/15 September. As part of our celebrations we are creating a Centenary Cook Book. Past students, staff and families have been invited to contribute and we need your contribution also.  See details below.

Save the Date:

Centenary Celebrations 14/15 September

St. Joseph’s proudly celebrates a centenary of Catholic education in Gayndah in 2019. Our theme is: Growing the minds, hearts and spirits of learners for 100 years. There will be many opportunities to celebrate throughout the year. If you have any ideas, please come along to the next planning meeting (check the school newsletter for dates).

Flashback Fridays

As part of our centenary celebrations, we will be posting a photo (from the past) each Friday to our Facebook page. Feel free to comment, like and share as we celebrate the centenary of our school in 2019. If you have photos, stories and/or memorabilia please send them through. We would love to hear from you and share your story with our community.

Recipe Book

One of ideas for memorabilia is a recipe book from past and present families. Please send along a favourite recipe and perhaps a photo that can be included with the recipe. The recipe book will include photos of the school and students from the past one hundred years. Feel free to share this with family members who are also past families of St. Joseph’s. Please email recipes and photos to and include your name, child’s name and years they attended St. Joseph’s. Recipe and photos need to be received by the end of Term 1 (Friday 5 April).
