Mini Vinnies Sleep Out

Year 5/6 students launched the St Vinnies winter appeal last week in their assembly. They shined a spotlight on homelessness, raising awareness for the most vulnerable people especially in our local communities. Their effort continued into the evening where they came together in solidarity to join in a state-wide effort to do something about it. The students were given a piece of cardboard, a cup of pumpkin soup and bread for dinner and braved the cold night whilst learning about some of the harsh realities faced by those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage.

Kate Everlyn, St Vincent de Paul Schools Engagement Officer said that our local communities need a lot of pantry items for their winter appeal effort. We are asking our St Joseph’s community to show our charity and compassion through the donations of non-perishable pantry items such as canned foods, rice, pasta, noodles, etc. Please send your donations with your child to the classroom teacher by week 8 Friday 2 September 2022.
