Library News

May is certainly a busy month in the library.

It is Scholastic National Family Reading Month which celebrates and encourages students and their families to read more together.

As part of this reading focus, we will be conducting our Book Fair in the Library from Tuesday 14th May to Thursday 23rd May. Students and parents are invited to purchase books from the Book Fair before and after school each day. The Book Fair will open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Weeks 5 and 6. 8:00 – 8:30am and 3:00 – 3:30pm.

On Thursday 16th May, we will also hold a Family Reading Morning from 8:15am to 8:45am when all families and grandparents are invited to join us at the library and on the oval to read with your children.

As part of our reading focus, students will also participate in the National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 22 May at 12 noon. “Bower Bird Blues” is the official book chosen for this storytime celebrated all over Australia at this time.

A reminder that every Tuesday is Library Day and all students are expected to bring a Library bag to school to borrow and return their books each week.

And finally, there are books sometimes displayed near the student bus line and uniform shop. These are culled books from the library and families are welcome to take these home to enjoy and keep.
