Student & Staff Support

RATIONALE:              Through living the gospel message, St Joseph’s School strives to be supportive and responsive to the needs of each member of our School community.  Our Vision Statement calls us to be a “community which embraces diversity and offers a place where staff and students feel that they belong and are valued.”

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

CHRISTIAN VALUES:    Community, supportiveness, love, honesty, inclusion, encouragement, acceptance, fairness and respect

POLICY STATEMENT

At St Joseph’s School, we will actively work together to build a supportive and responsive community in which all members feel they belong and are valued.  We will strive to provide an environment in which the self-worth of each individual, staff or student, is respected, nurtured and given the opportunity to prosper.   We will foster strong relationships between school community members, “so when each separate part works as it should, the whole body grows and builds itself up through love.” (Ephesians 4:16)

PRINCIPLES:                 Therefore, we are committed to –

  • Developing and implementing effective programs and strategies that address personal safety, personal and social development and resiliency among students
  • Providing opportunities for professional development of all staff to enhance skills necessary to provide a quality education
  • Strengthening our capacity to provide for the diverse needs of students with disabilities
  • Providing an environment where all St Joseph’s School stakeholders have a sense of belonging
